Previously, James was Associate Artistic Director of the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton, N.Y. In his 2 1/2 years there he produced, directed, and performed. Duties included programming and budgeting as well as direct liaison to the Artists. He produced and hosted and  The Red Carpet : Films from Our Neighbors  series with such luminaries as Steven Spielberg, Edward Albee, Roy Scheider, Mercedes Ruehl, Tony Walton, Anne Jackson, Eli Wallach, Cliff Robertson, Joe Stein and Sheldon Harnick.
  He holds a Masters degree in Performing Arts from the Asolo Conservatory of Florida State University and a double degree in Music and Theater from Skidmore College.He a member Actors' Equity, SAG, AFTRA, and AGMA.
